AspAlt

AspAlt provides a unique platform for inter-genomic and inter-database comparative analysis of alternative transcription (AT) and alternative splicing (AS) events across 46 eukaryotes. It is an excellent tool for analyzing the role of AT and AS events in tissue-specific gene expression, protein diversity, gene expression regulation, disease manifestation and in genome evolution.

Features:

Explore the distribution of 1.2 million alternative transcription (AT) and alternative splicing (AS) events in mRNA annotations of 94,144 genes
Color coded graphical display of AT events (alternative transcription initiation and termination) and AS events (intron retention, exon skipping, alternative donor and acceptor splice sites) enables efficient comparative analysis of mRNA isoform variations among groups of genes
Investigate the differences in mRNA isoform annotations of a gene among the three databases (Refseq, Ensembl and Aceview) in a single user-friendly graphical viewer and make informed decisions about the distribution of AT-AS events in the gene.
Perform inter-genomic comparative analysis of AT-AS variations across 46 eukaryotes
Flexibility to analyze AT-AS events in user-submitted datasets allows unlimited exploration of AT-AS patterns variation among genes which are differentially expressed in a particular disease state, among genes which share a common function, or among phylogenetically related genes
Download complete genomic AT-AS data for all 46 organisms in a structured XML format, well suited for efficient data extraction and analysis.
